Hello All,
We hope that you and your families are keeping well since we were last able to welcome you through the gates of Spollanstown. It seems like a long time ago now since mid-March of this year. As you are all aware, in adherence with Covid-19 restrictions, all club activity was temporarily ceased. The well-being and health of our members and the Tullamore community has and will continue to be our main priority.
Covid-19 has had a significant financial impact on our rugby club. All of our scheduled fundraising events have unfortunately been cancelled. This includes all Teen Discos, our Tag Rugby tournament and the Midnight 7s. So many sources of income are currently unavailable to us. In an effort to maintain our facilities and the day to day running of our club which will now necessitate new added safety protocols, we are appealing to our members, our many friends and supporters, both near and far, to help through this period by making a donation to the Club.
In times like these we need to stand together as a club. We have a long tradition of being a vibrant and united club that punches well above our weight. Let us pull together and help to keep the next generation of young girls and boys wearing the red and black of Tullamore RFC.
Unfortunately, as a club we estimate that the necessary cancelling of our fundraising events and planned future events will see us loose approximately €40,000 of essential revenue. The money raised from these events is vital to keep our club in operation and cover overhead costs such as electricity, heat, insurance, pitch maintenance, COVID safety equipment, first aid and transport for youth teams etc.
The absence of essential revenue generation opportunities means that our club will have a serious shortfall in available funds and may not have the finances available to cover costs associated with the upcoming season.
Further to the financial hit on our ability to meet our day to day running costs, work has already began on an extension to the car parking at the club. The carpark extension and new entrance is critical to ensure the safety of all our members during training and match days. These works had commenced prior to the lockdown. However, with our main revenue streams removed, the likelihood of completing these and other projects within the time frame for the coming season is now deemed highly unlikely.
There is a belief that nothing is impossible but like everything in life, there are costs involved. We have really exciting plans for Spollanstown and for the club as a whole but our income stream has unexpectedly dried up. For the reasons outlined above we are coming to you; our friends, families, members, players and supporters in search of financial support to help keep our club afloat and ensure Tullamore RFC remains in operation for many years to come. We have launched a GoFundMe Campaign and are asking for any help you can give. We understand in these times that not everyone may be in a position to make a donation. However, whatever you can afford is gratefully appreciated to ensure the continuity of our club.
Your support will be greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
Kind Regards,
Tullamore RFC
