Ladies 2XV Continue to Make Waves

   29 Nov 2017

Tullamore Ladies 2nds travelled to Swords on Sunday last for their 3rd outing of the season and it proved to be a successful trip as the ladies won in convincing fashion on a scoreline of 74-0.

Right from the start Tullamore were on the front foot and only a couple of minutes had past when the ball was spread wide and Katrina McInerney raced through for the first try. There wasnt a long wait for the 2nd try and again the ball was spread wide where Amanda Hollingsworth showed good pace to run in under the posts. After this the floodgates seemed to open and before half time Roisin Kane had added 3 tries for herself, Katie O  Brien had scored her first try for Tullamore and Kate McCann had added the 7th try of the first half.

A few changes were made to the Tullamore team at half time but the onslaught on the Swords try line continued in the 2nd half. Kate McCann and Katrina both added further tries while Roisin got 2 more for herself bringing her total to 5 tries along with 7 conversions. The last play of the game saw Amanda gather the restart 5 yards from her own line and after a couple of strong hand offs she ran the length of the pitch to touch down under the posts.Swords never gave up but the experience of the Tullamore players showed and their ability to offload and make strong tackles set the platform for this good win.

Next Sunday the Tulliers take on Tallaght at home in Spollanstown at 1pm who are the only other undefeated team in this league so it is set up for an exciting game. The team vs Swords were Robin Maher, Sarah Jane O Connor, Katie O Brien, Ann Marie McKeon, Patrice Browne, Aishling Fox, Roisin Kane, Kate McCann, Amanda Hollingsworth, Katrina McInerney, Ciara Griffith, Sarah Gunning & Lauren Dunne.
