Almost 100 girls took part in the mini blitz for girls hosted by Tullamore

Tullamore hosted its first mini blitz for girls when Athy, Ballinasloe, Mullingar, Portlaoise, Ratoath and two teams from Tullamore had a very enjoyable morning of rugby.

Almost 100 girls had a minimum of three games each.

This is the club's first season fielding minis girls'

teams and it's been a success.

Last season the club fielded a women's team and an U-18 and U-15 teams for the first time. All are still going strong with the women's team topping the Leinster League Division 2 and being promoted for next season. They play Railway in a play-off for the League title tomorrow in Donnybrook.

Thanks to the organisers Rob Kelly (minis co-ordinator, Tullamore) with Alma Egan (also photographer for the day!), Tara Evans, Katie Byrne and Veronica Smyth.

And of course thanks to the mammies and daddies of the host club!
